A single-center, prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded study showed the potential of FORTIBONE®. Over a period of 12 months, 180 women with reduced bone mass participated in a therapy with daily intake of 5 g FORTIBONE® or placebo. Changes in bone mass density were measured in the spine and femoral neck of the participants detected by DXA scans.

FORTIBONE® consumption showed a significant improvement of bone density. The results showed a pronounced increase in BMD (Bone Mineral Density) after FORTIBONE® supplementation in women suffering from osteopenia or osteoporosis. The results indicate an anabolic effect. FORTIBONE® is an interesting option to counteract bone degeneration.

Promising results
The results of this study indicated an anabolic effect, showing a pronounced increase in bone mineral density after FORTIBONE® supplementation. In the femoral neck, BMD increased by 6.7%, whereas in the spine results showed an increase of 3% at the end of the treatment phase. In the same period, bone density in the placebo group decreased by 1.3% in the spine and 1% in the femoral neck. Hence, at the end of the study, subjects in the collagen peptides group showed significantly increased BMD compared to placebo with a 4.2% higher BMD in the spine and a 7.7% higher BMD in the femoral neck.

Improved workout results – Significant changes in body composition in female participants performing resistance training and supplementing BODYBALANCE®
In a study with premenopausal women the potential of a daily intake of 15g BODYBALANCE® was investigated. Seventyseven women aged between 18-50 years received 15 g/day BODYBALANCE® or placebo for 12 weeks. The Bioactive Collagen Peptide® supplementation, in combination with resistance training, significantly improved body composition in women, not only by increasing lean body mass, but also by reducing their fat mass. This is an effect not consistently observed for any other source of protein supplementation, particularly in women.

The BODY PROTEIN mechanism
The exact mechanism of BODYBALANCE® is still the subject of ongoing research, but current data suggest, that the mode of action is based on the multifactorial impact of Bioactive Collagen Peptides (BCP®) on various metabolic processes and the overall functional unit of muscle: e.g. muscle and fat metabolism.

Studies confirm the efficacy of BODYBALANCE®
Several randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded studies have demonstrated the efficacy and potential of the daily intake of 15 g BODYBALANCE® in combination with resistance training.

In the latest studies 2,3, the effect of post-exercise supplementation on lean body mass, fat mass, and muscle strength in combination with resistance training was tested. 114 healthy, physically inactive men, aged 35-60 participated. The primary outcome was to compare 15 g BODYBALANCE® supplementation with a placebo. Changes in body composition were measured by DXA scans. DXA represents the “Gold Standard” in body composition measurement. Total body scans using DXA give a precise measurement of body composition, including bone mass, lean body mass, and fat mass.

In addition, muscle strength, waist circumference, and various blood parameters were determined. The results of the primary endpoint of the study revealed a statistically significant (p<0.05) increase in lean body mass after BODYBALANCE® supplementation compared to placebo.

The positive effect was also reflected in the results of the secondary study criteria. BODYBALANCE® treatment led to improved muscle strength, a reduction of waist circumference, and a statistically significant fat mass reduction (p<0.05), after collagen peptide intake.
