A very nice almond NZ made milk with an understated and refined taste of nutritious almonds.

This milk is made from almonds from South Australia, with many almond farms located on the iconic Murray River.  The farmers adopt a dense tree planting technique as this has proven to reduce water and fertiliser which makes the business more environmentally sustainable long term.

Try pairing with cereal, smoothies, and your daily caffeine hit. Ideal for baking too.

What is so special about it?

Almond milk is made from ground almonds and is lower in calories than other milks as long as it is unsweetened.  As it is not an animal product it is cholesterol free, has no saturated fat, and is naturally lactose free making it ideal for those with intolerances.

Anchor Skim Milk has 4.9g sugar whilst Covet Unsweetened Almond Milk has 0.2g per 100g.

Almond and Macadamia nut milks are also rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids, which studies have shown improves blood cholesterol and benefit insulin levels.  (Harvard Medical School report 2015).

Why is this more expensive than other almond milks?

The biggest difference between Covet and all other nut milks is that Covet contains 5% of almonds in our unsweetened variety which is more than the competitors at 2.5%.

Everything is natural - There are no added artificial flavours or colours, no refined sugars or artificial sweeteners.

There is also no carrageenan (a thickening substance) found in many nut milks, and although research is not conclusive, it has been linked to digestive problems.

Why is it better than soy milk?

The right milk for you depends upon your dietary needs and is individual.  Almond does offer benefits that soy milk doesn’t such as

  •  less calories and sugar content compared to soy milk
  •  is free of phytoestrogens (these are plant compounds resembling human oestrogen and studies have shown that it can block a person’s normal oestrogen function and cause infertility and increase risk of breast cancer).
